London Minor Football coach honoured as volunteer of the year.

Recently, the London Minor Football Association was happy to nominate long-time coach and volunteer Lucas Reeves for the City of London volunteer of the year award. A successful candidate, he was then recognized at a reception at the Western Fairgrounds as one of the volunteers of the year in 2018.

Lucas started out as an assistant coach in the tyke division (ages 9 and under), and he has coached with the Panthers at all three age groups for the past six years. Many of his former players have graduated to great success at the high school level in London, and his team won the LMFA Championship in 2016.

The annual City of London reception honours hardworking, long-time volunteers from sports organizations across London. Like most non-profits, the LMFA relies on our incredible volunteers all year long.

Many people work countless hours behind the scenes so that we can provide almost 700 young athletes the chance to play football every fall.

LMFA is a house league that welcomes all boys and girls across the London and St. Thomas area – from ages 7 to 13. We accept all players, regardless of experience or ability, offering them the chance to join a team, make friends, stay active, and learn about teamwork and sportsmanship.

Every Sunday in the fall, the 24 teams compete on the fields at Citywide Park, leading up to LMFA Championship Day on November 4.
